For this tutorial you will need PSP 7.  In addition you will need the Texturizer plug in and the tube which you can download below.

Open a new, transparent palette, 500 x 500

 Using your selection tool, rectangle, no feather, antialias not checked, draw a new rectangle from coordinates 0,0 to coordinates 100, 500.

 

Flood fill this selection with a medium gray.  I used #808080.  Deselect.

 Using your selection tool, same settings, draw a new rectangle from coordinates 0, 100 to 200, 500.  

Flood fill this selection with a darker gray.  I used #5F5F5F.  Deselect. 

Using your selection tool, same settings, draw a new rectangle from coordinates 0, 200 to 300, 500. 

Flood fill this selection with a light gray.  I used #B1B0AE  Deselect.

 Using your selection tool, same settings, draw a new rectangle from coordinates 0,300 to 400, 500.

Flood fill this selection with an even lighter gray color.  I used #D2D0D1.  Deselect. 

Using your selection tool, same settings, draw your last rectangle from coordinates 0, 400 to 500, 500.

 Flood fill this selection with black.  Deselect

 Go to effects, geometric effects, and select twirl set at 360 degrees.  Apply.

 Effects, plug in filters, texture.  With the following settings:

 Texture:  Sandstone

Scaling:   100%

Relief:       2

Light Direction:  Top

Apply.

 Image, Resize with the following settings:

 

 Effects, Sharpen, Sharpen.

Add a new raster layer.

Using your picture tube tool, select the tube “TYW_Chapeau” or a tube of your choice.

If using the Chapeau tube, set your scale to 85%.  Position as desired.

 Effects, Sharpen, Sharpen.

Layers, merge all, flatten. 

Set your background color to a bright green. 

Image, add borders, symmetric, 6. 

Using your magic wand, tolerance 0, feather 0, sample merged, select your bright green border.

 Flood fill with white.

Selections, Invert.

 Effects, 3D Effects, Cut Out with the following settings:

 Opacity:  75

Blur:  25

Horizontal and Vertical:  6

Shadow Color:  Black

Interior filled NOT checked.

 Apply.

 Apply the same cutout again only this time, set your horizontal and vertical to minus 6. 

 Selections, Select None.

 Set your background color to a bright green once again. 

Image, Add Borders, Symmetric, 12.

 Select with your magic wand tool, same settings as before and once again, flood fill with a medium gray.  I used #828282.

I used a pool shadow filter on the frame at this point, using the factory settings.  You can download Gregg’s Factory Output Filters at this URL:  http://mars.ark.com/~gschorno/gfo/ 

Selections, Invert. 

Effects, 3D Effects, Cutout, changing your settings to:

Opacity:  100

Blur:        2

Horizontal and Vertical:  2

Shadow Color:  Black

Fill with Interior Color NOT checked.

 Apply.

 Select your cut out again, only this time, change the Horizontal and Vertical settings to minus 2. 

Selections, Select None.
